Andersons Tours · Katoomba & the Jamison Valley

Scenic World, wildlife and a ferry home

Andersons Tours packs the big three of a Blue Mountains day into one: Scenic World's rides and rainforest walk, the Three Sisters, then Featherdale or Sydney Zoo and a Parramatta River ferry back to Circular Quay. Pick it if you want everything sorted, with lunch on the main option and no more than 20 people on the coach.

Scenic World, Wildlife Park & River Cruise

About this experience

This is the full package. A WiFi mini coach collects you from one of four central Sydney points: 255 Pitt Street, 98 Harrington Street, 150 Day Street or PARKROYAL Darling Harbour. In the mountains the day starts at Scenic World, where the listing promises early entry and a guided visit with the Railway, Skyway, Cableway and a rainforest walk. Scenic World is a private, family-run attraction, open since 1945, not part of the national park, and its tickets are folded into this tour.

From there it is lookouts: the Three Sisters, the Megalong Valley and the Jamison Valley, about 30 minutes each, plus an hour for lunch. The main option has a sit-down restaurant lunch with vegan, vegetarian, halal and gluten-free choices. On the way home the coach stops for an hour at Featherdale Wildlife Park or Sydney Zoo, both in western Sydney, then you take a river ferry along the Parramatta River to Wharf 4 at Circular Quay, around 5 p.m.

Read the options before you book. The same listing sells a cheaper version, Scenic World, Zoo and Cruise, that drops the lunch (an upgrade is offered) and goes to Sydney Zoo, not Featherdale. That is what the asterisk in the listing's title means. With six stops in about ten hours, each lookout gets around half an hour, so this is a sampler, not a walking day. If you want to spend that time on tracks, the waterfall walk tour is the better fit.

  • Early entry at Scenic World: Railway, Skyway, Cableway and a guided rainforest walk
  • The Three Sisters plus Megalong and Jamison Valley lookouts
  • Sit-down lunch on the main option, with vegan, halal and gluten-free choices
  • Kangaroos and koalas at Featherdale or Sydney Zoo
  • A Parramatta River ferry back to Circular Quay

Tips before you book

  • Check which option you are buying. Lunch and Featherdale come with the main option, not the Scenic World, Zoo and Cruise one.
  • Tell the operator your choice of Featherdale or Sydney Zoo at least 24 hours ahead. No changes are accepted after that.
  • Bring warm layers. Katoomba is about 1,000 m up and noticeably cooler than Sydney.
  • Leave big bags at your hotel. Luggage and large bags are not allowed on the coach.
  • The tour runs in all weather. Check the forecast the day before, because refunds stop 24 hours out.

Frequently asked questions

Is lunch really included on the Andersons tour?

On the main option, yes: a sit-down restaurant lunch with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free choices. The cheaper Scenic World, Zoo and Cruise option drops lunch, with an upgrade offered, and visits Sydney Zoo instead of giving you the Featherdale choice.

Where does the tour end?

At Wharf 4, Circular Quay, at around 5 p.m., after a ferry along the Parramatta River. There is no drop-off at your hotel.

Are Featherdale and Sydney Zoo in the Blue Mountains?

No. Featherdale is at Doonside and Sydney Zoo at Bungarribee, both in western Sydney. The tour visits one of them on the way back.

How long is the Scenic World stop?

The itinerary gives about an hour, with a guided visit, the three rides and the rainforest walk. If you want unlimited rides at your own pace, the Scenic World Unlimited Discovery Pass on its own gives you the whole day.
